Egba Nation Initiative

Donation Policy

How gifts to the Egba Nation Initiative are received, used and reported.

Last updated 19 Oct 2026

DRAFT — to be reviewed and approved by the Egba Nation Initiative and its legal adviser before launch.

Where your gift goes

You choose a community project or the General Fund. Gifts to a project are used for that project. The General Fund is used where it is needed most, as decided by the board.

Transparency

Every confirmed gift appears on the public ledger with its amount, date, method and recipient. Spending is published too, and financial reports are posted on the Transparency page.

Your privacy

Your name is never published unless you choose to show it. Card payments are processed by Paystack; we never see your card details.

Bank transfers

Transfers appear on the ledger once our Treasurer has matched them with the bank statement, usually within 24 hours.

Currencies

Gifts chosen in dollars, pounds or euros are charged in naira at the rate shown on the Give page. Your bank may apply its own exchange rate or fees.

If a project changes

If a project raises more than it needs, or cannot go ahead, the balance moves to the General Fund or to a similar project, and the change is shown on the ledger.

Monthly gifts

You can stop a monthly gift at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

Refunds

If you made a mistake, contact us within 14 days at [email protected] and we will review your request. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and recorded on the ledger as a correction.

Political support

Support for election aspirants goes directly to their campaigns. The Egba Nation Initiative does not hold political funds and cannot refund campaign gifts.
